Hello, I’m Dheeraj
I design systems where AI meets human intuition, making complex technology feel seamless. Currently, I’m a Product Designer at Zendesk, backed by nearly a decade of shaping and scaling products across Persistent Systems, WongDoody, Infosys, and Ittisa—building high-impact products for enterprise giants like DHL, Citibank, PerkinElmer, ITC, and more.
With an engineer’s eye for structure and an artist’s instinct for craft, I help teams turn dense, complex workflows into effortless experiences. Whether untangling data-heavy platforms or refining subtle micro-interactions, I believe design does its best work when it gets out of the user’s way.
A few things I care about
I value simple language, strong systems, and teams that move with clarity. When I’m not designing, I’m usually reading about how people use products, how organisations grow, and how small details make experiences feel more human.
Art roots,
engineering bones,
Design Engineer at
core.
Long before I ever wrote code or opened a design tool, I viewed the world through color and perspective. As a school kid in Ranchi, painting wasn’t just a hobby, it was second nature, eventually earning recognition from the Chief Minister and the Governor. I even earned my first pocket money taking on art projects and dirtying my hands with ink. That natural visual intuition taught me early on that craft isn’t decorative; it’s about balance, focus, and intent.
When I stepped into Computer Science Engineering, that artistic eye collided with structural logic. While helping engineering friends draft their technical drawings, I became obsessed with building real products. By my final year, I rolled up my sleeves and built a bike and gear rental platform from scratch "Gorenting" in PHP to solve a genuine college pain point; lending things out easily without the social friction. That was my inflection point. I wasn’t just sketching ideas, I was prototyping, coding, and thinking like a design engineer who cares as much about how a system behaves under the hood as how it looks.
As my career took off, design conversations quickly shifted from purely visual polish to business impact. To speak the language of numbers and leadership with clarity, I backed my intuition with a PGDM in IT Project Management, paired with formal Human-Computer Interaction studies. That bridged the gap between user psychology and commercial reality.
Over the years, that dual foundation let me tackle high-stakes problem spaces with top teams architecting complex platforms for global banking giants like Citibank, high-precision life science tools, business solutions, and critical logistics workflows for DHL. Designing for massive datasets and mission-critical accuracy shaped how I operate: patient, meticulous, and grounded.
Much like standing in front of the open ocean - a vast, calm horizon that reminds me there’s never a ceiling to how far you can think, I approach every complex product challenge with boundless curiosity, high craft and a friendly, steady focus.

Things that keep me
curious.
Deconstructing everyday systems
To me, cooking is just product design with taste, heat, and immediate feedback. I love breaking down a dish into its core elements, balancing textures, testing timing, and iterating on flavor profiles until a recipe feels effortless. The same curiosity follows me into the real world: I constantly catch myself observing subtle everyday systems, from how a bustling kitchen coordinates orders to why an airport terminal signage works. Deconstructing why things work (or fail) in real life makes me a far more empathetic designer.
Canvases, Reads & Reflections
Painting has been my default mode of thinking since childhood, give me a blank sheet or an open canvas, and I naturally start dirtying the page with ink, color, and raw ideas. Over the years, that visual itch grew into a habit of reading deeply and jotting down reflections on product culture, human quirks, and everyday design. Whether I’m untangling an abstract idea through quick notes or following pure visual intuition with paint, keeping sketchbooks and notebooks full is how I stay grounded, observant, and connected to the craft.
Open Highways & Coastal Water
When I need to hit reset, you’ll find me throttling my bike toward open stretches or anywhere with water. There is something therapeutic about long rides, the steady hum of the engine and the open road trigger that calm, rhythmic theta-wave headspace where thoughts untangle on their own. I’m naturally drawn to the water, whether it’s a quiet swim or just standing by the shore. Combining road trips with a hunt for coastlines, rivers, and swimming spots is my favorite way to recharge my perspective.
If you’re building
something thoughtful,
I’m all ears.
I’m most interested in projects that need clarity, systems thinking, and a human-centered approach. If that sounds like your work, let’s start a conversation.
